Senior Applications Analyst
Andy Weinstein
Andy's broad technological expertise spans numerous platforms and
languages. Complementing this breadth of experience is Andy's talent for
application analysis and his aptitude for customer technical support at
the highest levels.
At Degel, Andy has been responsible for a number of client successes on
Symbian, J2ME, and Windows platforms. He was the lead developer on
Electric Pocket's BugMe! for Symbians applications, winner of the
Handago Champion award. His most recent projects have included the development
of the GUI side for a mapping application on behalf of LocatioNet and the
integration of NextCode's innovative barcode scanning technology into a
Symbian application.
Andy has been developing software products for over fifteen years.
Early in his career, Andy played key roles in engineering the PC-based
Common Lisp platform for Turing award winner Charles Bachman's Database
Re-engineering Product Set.
He participated in OS/2 product development at IBM.
Andy was a co-architect of the GUI (graphical user interface) for
HBOC's Smart Medical Record, a Windows-based client-server, and
data-rich Internet-based medical documentation product, automating
comprehensive ambulatory patient records in the physician practice.
An Ivy League graduate, Andy was awarded a Bachelor's degree in Computer
Science from Yale University in 1986,
supplemented by advanced studies at the renowned
Technion-Israel Institute of
Technology. At the Technion, his work included research on
information retrieval systems.
