Symbian Guru
David Jacobson
David joined Degel in 2001. He is Degel's resident Symbian Guru and
all-around brainstorming genius. He often finds great solutions to
clients' "impossible" problems. Though much of David's work remains confidential,
we can boast that he succeeded in writing an after-market mouse driver for the
Nokia 9210 Communicator, even though that device is configured not to allow the
addition of any device drivers. David has most recently served as the lead developer
for the Symbian version of VKB's virtual keyboard.
His past experience includes:
-
A member of the 2AM Technical Development team. While there, he
helped architect the next generation of 2AM's Creation software, and was
responsible for memory management, diagnostic and bug-catching tools.
-
Worked for eight years at
Ligature/Wizcom as a programmer
and algorithm designer with broad responsibility, from
writing device drivers to improving the stability of the graphics
detection algorithms to optimizing program performance.
David graduated England's
Cambridge University with a
Bachelor's in Mathematics in 1989 and earned a Master's degree in
Mathematics from Imperial College in
London, England in 1991.
